Hi I was realy hoping their was anyone who could point me in the rite direction. I have a 87 GT that starts now but when the RPMs get to about 4000 the engin allmost quits. The guy I got the car from said he just put a new fule pump in it. Also if I drive it, I'll get 100 feet away and the car will stall and will not restart.:banghead: Please help!! I love the car and can't wait to drive it.

Try testing your fuel pressure.

Thanks far the idea Trapped Darkness. I just checked the pressure and it turned out ok:bigthumb: . It also has a new fule filter. I was hoping it would work but oh well. Now that I know the fule pressure is ok do you think it could be clogged fule injectors? Or do you know if it is common that the fule pressure regulator would go bad?

Those are both good ideas to check. THe clogged injectors i would check secondly. mostly because if they where clogged you should notice bad performance all around. Also check to see if your vacuum advance is working.

You may want to check for a clogged cat too.

Well problem solved:grinyes:
After I changed the fule injectors it still had the same problem.:banghead:
Even though the guy I got the car from ("Fiero Stue") said he changed the fule pump, I decided it was time to check. Turns out that the pump was new but the dude didn't put the sock on the bottom of it.:screwy:
As we all know...
20 year old car + new fule pump - $3 filter sock = clogged dammaged pump
Long story short.... spend the extra $3
thanks for the feed back TrappedDarkness & Old Lar:bigthumb:
