I have a 1999 Explorer sport with the 4.0 sohc and im wondering what would make it have good power. I just put dual glass packs on it cause it was a double inlet to the muffler which was pretty cool for a 6 cylinder. But what would wake her up. I cant change the plugs cause they look to be a pain in the but, if theyre really not let me know and recomend a good set of plugs and nething else that u think would make good power. thnanx

If it has over 100K on it, replacing the plugs and wires would be a good start, especially if you just got the vehicle and don't know if/when it was last done.
The driver's side plugs aren't bad since you can reach them fairly easily. Maybe take 1 or 2 out on that side and see what the plugs look like to see if they need changed.
The passenger side plugs are a real PITA. You can probably get the front one out from the top. You will probably have to go through the fender well to get the back two. Taking the tire off makes it easier and you may have to remove a splash guard if there's one on your vehicle.
The plug wires can be a problem too if they are stuck. Try twisting them first before pulling on them. I changed a set of wires once and had to split the boots with a knife on 2 of the wires before I could get them off. Put some dielectric grease inside the boots before reinstalling them and they will come off much easier next time. Some plug wire sets come with the grease.
If the plugs are shot, you're not going to have much luck getting more power by doing other things.
