I'm thinking about having my motor in my 92 prelude swapped to an h22, where is a good place to find one's in decent shape?

Are you DENSE? the 1992 prelude didn't come with a H22. =)
Just thought i'd let ya know. And to correct you, any H22A* will work in the 4th gen. preludes. Some like the A4 will just need minor modifications, but why would anyone want an open deck block?

like i said, the a4 motor is not the best, but if you're just throwing it in with the modifications, then it work work for the extra 5-10 hp over the a1.

grow up guys k?

I don't need to prove anything to a guy with a big mouth who thinks only a 92 H22 to fit a 92 Prelude:screwy: .

Sorry dude, I'm finished - subsequent posts from GHJTANG will go straight to my RICER file.

Back on topic - I've seen JDM H22's from the Prelude Type S (220hp) online for about $3500 includes ECU and LSD tranny.

if you cant prove that you aint a HOMO then that means youre a FAG.

also youre stupid if you pay $3500 for H22 engine. check this site >>

you can buy that whole car 92 prelude vtec for only $1000 bucks.

:grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes:Ahahahaha - oh god you ricers get dumber and dumber every year. You're too stupid to realize what a piece of shit you just linked to and I'm enjoying your ignorance but for the benefit of the Soccer-Prelude I'll explain why you are an idiot:
That Prelude is:
a) not running
b) an automatic
c) already swapped and you have no idea where that engine came from
d) most likely an early 190 hp H22

I'm not going to try to explain why a low-mileage Type S H22 engine is worth more than that POS you linked to, you ricers don't understand when it comes to technical discussion.

BTW did you get your brake problem fixed yet? It's a real easy one to fix!

Hey FAG, why dont you tell soccer-prelude where to buy a running H22 engine then??:naughty:

I think he knows youre not only stupid but also real dumb-ass because theres no such thing as running h22 engines when you buy them.:banghead:

BTW, if you think youre an expert on brake then why dont you reply on my thread.

Now i'm a little confused between the two, but my friend told me it would be to my advantage if i was to hook up and h22 rather than my h23. thats why i was looking into a 98 prelude SH h22 because i think they come 200 hp stock? if it's the JDM import one. not sure though.

:grinyes: No such thing as a running H22? It's so funny that you are banging your head in frustration at your own stupidity. Here's a link to one of several hundred websites where you can find RUNNING JDM H22's, H23's, B16's, B18's...tons of shit. It's a HUGE business, even the dumbest ricer like you should know about JDM import engines.

I don't want to help you with your brake problem because you're just an idiot ricer who should crash into a brick wall, but I'll give you a hint where to start looking:

I hope it's your master cylinder because that's really expensive:cwm27:

Some people prefer an H23 if they are going to turbo the engine but stock the H22 is the better engine. The H22 mainly comes in three different flavors. The 4th gen H22's put out 190hp, shortly after the 5th gen started they were upped to 200hp, and also during the 5th gen they made a Type S which put out 220hp. Make sure you get a JDM imported engine because those are supposed to be low-mileage engines (under 30,000 miles). A used USDM engine is likely to be very high-mileage.

Here's a link to one site that sells JDM import engines.

http://www.tokyomotorimports.com/engine/honda.html

So you can see there are different types of H22's - the Type S is the most powerful in stock form.

The USDM H23 isn't VTEC and only puts out 160 hp, but there is one version of H23 that is more powerful than the H22's. It is a DOHC/VTEC JDM H23. It puts out 230hp and has better torque. Here's a link:

oh what the, i didn't know there was a v-tec h23 even made? which would you recommend between the two, if both are v-tec? whats the difference between the two?

H23 VTEC was only available on the Accord Sir Wagon in Japan and Europe (not in U.S.). Basically it is the same engine as the H23a1 you have now, except it has a VTEC head and a higher compression ratio. It puts out closer to 200 hp (not 230 as I posted earlier) and ~160lb tq.

Personally I'd get a Type S H22 - it already has all of the things I want to install in my h22: 11:1 pistons, more agressive cams, port/polished head, better flowing exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, LSD tranny...on a stock ECU tune.
