Just looking to improve my gas milage and maybe add some power.

I found these on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=1989+civic+intake&category0=

Im not sure if i should get the bent pipe or the straight, i would think the bent would fit better.

Do you guys have any other recommendations for intakes? Do you think its even worth it to intall one? Thanks!

neither. Both are short ram intakes and are ment for higher rpm power gains; at the expense of low end power. So basically you'll lose power where you'll be driving it most of the time, and have to give it more gas to get it to move (mpg goes down). Your best bet is to either get a cold air intake, or even better would be just to buy a K&N drop-in filter.

I would just go for the K&N.

As for the difference between Short Ram vs. Cold Air Intakes. You get close to the same gains from both, but the CAI will give you a spike in HP in your power band, while a Short Ram is a more consistent gain across the power band. There is a nice big article on it somewhere on the net, comparing the 2, and that was the short form of it all.

IMO the best method would to get a Short ram intake, and place a heat shield around it blocking some of the engine heat. If its a significant gain or not, I don't know, don't think they compared that, and I'm not going to :)
