Check Charge System

My 95 Aurora (160,000 miles) has been running great recently. Two days ago I started it up and "Check Charge System" flashed on the DIC and the battery voltage light on the dash lit up. The battery voltage was steady at 12.5 volts.
After pulling out of the parking lot the volts increased to 14.8 and all warning lights turned off. Nothing seemed wrong after that.
Now things seem to be recurring regularly. Usually after about a mile down the road, when I really get up to speed, the DIC "Check Charge System" turns off and the Voltage warning light on the dash turns off.
I have read some of the other posts about the "Check Charge System" problem and most of them seem to be multiple problems and serious problems where the car cannot be driven. My problem keeps correcting itself within a short period of time. My battery is 1 year old. My alternator is 3 years old. I do have A/C clutch problems, but so far that doesn't seem to be an issue. Does anyone have some ideas? My next move will be to start checking the alternator, battery, A/C clutch. Anything else?
