I tryed searching this and couldnt get a definint answer

i know you have to suck in quite a bid of water in your CAI to hydrolock

but if i get a bypass valve is there no way, zero percent of hydrolocking, dont have to even worry about it, or should i just take the SRI that is not as effective???

thanx for the help

while i have no clue as to what the majority of your question means, i can tell you that your assumption of needing a large amount of water to hydro-lock is wrong...

o sorry
if i have a cai i know that you increase the risk of hydrolocking will the bypass valve on the cold air intake completely eliminate the problem

to translate for the rice-deficient folks: CAI mean cold air intake

depends on the car and depends on the CAI, mainly where the inlet is, and what access it has from the elements, especially puddles.

The simplist answer would be to throw the CAI in the trash can, but you didn't ask that.

I have no idea what "bypass valve" you're talking about. Thats usually a turbo term, and I assume that if you have a CAI, you don't have a turbo, but since you didn't give us any info on your car, I can only make assumptions

But to answer it, assuming your car is turbo'd, no the bypass valve will do no good with water ingestion

no my car is not turboed, it is a completely stock accord ex-L v6, im thinking about getting a Cold air intake for it but im affraid of hydro-locking.

AEM makes as air bypass valve for the cai for this
http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Honda/Accord/Intake-Accessories/Air-Intakes/Performance/part_c-88_pl-2227_p-51720_vt-484_vy-2006.htm
it claims that it completly eliminates the problem and im just making sure

and if anyone has one or knows about it, does the valve hurt the proformance at all, and hows the sound with a CAI?? ive heard too loud
