Post Warranty Servicing

Hi
I have a 1999 323i with under 30k miles on it. I had taken it in for my second inspection servicing & maintainance and discovered that my warranty has lapsed due to it being 3yrs6mos since my purchase. Now the cost for the servicing is close to $500. Is it worth it to get it done at a dealership or should I take it into another place. It seems to me that most of the work involved in Inspection II is checking and verifying that everything is fine with the exception of the oil and fluid changes. I haven't had any problems with the car, and so was considering just taking it into JiffyLube or someplace for a complete oil and fluid change. Would that be better or should I bite the bullet and pay $500 for the BMW mechanic to check that my lights work, etc.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
