problems with the darn warner bros video system

I have already noticed other postings in the past regarding the Rosen VCP Warner Bros. video package so I know they have been causing the same problems for others as well. Basically, one day the system worked, the next day it didn't.:banghead: My husband and I took the console apart and reconnected all of the wiring harnesses. The video worked for about 10 seconds, then went nutz again. What I mean by that is the system will play videos and you can hear them just fine, however, the image across the screen is skewed, like a scrambled cable image or something. Since a headcleaner did not solve the problem and the video appeared to be playing/sounding fine and the image on the screen (including the menu screen) was skewed, we assumed that the main "black box" for the system needed to be replaced. We went through hell to track down that part and order it to the tune of $523.00 and the new part did not make one difference. The system was still behaving odly. I have since bid on a new VCP on ebay for $60, this is just the video unit itself, and figured I'd give it a try. But I guess my question is... IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS ACTUALLY BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM???? I have a sinking feeling that I'll never be able to use my video system again.:disappoin

I have one doing the same thing. I was wondering if you figured it out. I just bought the van and the kids are disappointed.

It's too expensive to repair......better off buying a dual DVD player that you can strap onto the headrests of the front seats....about $100....

Given the described behavior I would primarily suspect the display. It seems to be a normal composite video signal to it so if you can find a display that fit then it shouldn't be too hard to adapt.

However, it's a 10+ years old system so much more cost efficient to as Tech II suggests.
