Hi all. I am thinking about swapping the engine from 6 3.4L to ls1 sometime later this year. But before I do it I want to be able to control the horsepower. As of right now I am bone stock 94 firebird. I am looking for some linear springs, performance shocks, and whatever other stuff you'll recommend.
Basically I am looking to build a well handling car all around
Some stuff that I notice and would like to get an expert opinion on-- spohn tubular a-arms and coilovers in the rear.

Thanks in advance.

to tell the truth if its just a stock ls1 u will be fine witht he stuff on your car suspention wise...but i will tell u that u will need a new k-member.. and the ls1 brake system, the springs and shocks are the same, but i myself even on my old v6 that was ongoing that swap had BMR everything...lowering springs, sun frame connectores, relocation brackets, lower control arms, pan hard handle, strut tower brace, and torque arm. so i think i was very good for a 450 n/a car and 650hp on spray car. so unless u going for sum shit like that u can build her up as u go...good luck on that swap, its no bitch! everyone else here will tell u to just buy a damn v8, i wont, but what i will tell u is i was sponsored at the time and i have a f body shop to work on my car, and it still ran me close to 8k for everything i needed to do it, and alot of fabbing, and alot of shit donated to me for free...so im figuring for a perfect clean job u will be looking at 12k or so, my best friend did it and completed it for under 4k, but that was with a donor ls1 car that he stripped down for all parts needed and a good set of heads he had built. u got a fun job there buddy hope it pays off

Actually I was planning to push just about the same numbers (450-650).
And it is going to be continuous. I just wanted a little consultation before I begin ordering stuff.
Now, your comment about the braking system, how would you recommend I go about it. Will 98-02 system actually fit in 94-97? I understand it is no going to be a straight drop in but how much modding am I looking at( I don't what to just by a ready v8 f-body. what’s the adventure in that?).
Another thing, with the numbers that you put down what it your rear end? I got a shitty drums in the back so that shit's gotta go... what should I aim for? 10 bolt with disks, 12 bolt or a Ford 9 inch? (sorry for saying the forbidden word) :)
