brakes?.. maybe

I just bought my first car.. a 93 2dr lumina.3.1. and Im not too handy..Im trying to fix it by myself and am coming up with problems..:banghead:

My dad said I needed a brake job.. so I got one, and now hes saying that its the caliber.. or whatever.. hes not to handy either.. and I was just wondering if any of you guys knew what could be the problem before I pay some mechanic to fix it..


also, My ABS light is on too?..

Welcome to AF, you have not stated other than the abs lite, what the problem is, why is the caliper being suggested, what symptoms, very short on info here.

umm.. well we changed the caliber with a new one.. WOW priceeeeyyy.. and now the prob seems to be ok.. but its still the abs light and now when I drive it for a bit.. it makes this sqeeking noise coming from the tire????

The abs needs to be scanned for codes, the noise only someone with the car can tell what that is.
