racing, racing and more racing

well its been a couple weeks since i've even been on AF and i've been pretty busy since then. it seems to me that the small amount of AFer's that live in stockton attract attention from the strangest foes.

in any case on with the races

first run worth posting that i had in the past long while was against a fellow AFer although he doesn't post almost at all. Dragneon1320 was his old handle. well any how, i had been buggin him to race for quite a while and on one of our friday night cruises he decided to endulge me.

1st run: first run we had was had somewhat of a goofy start, we were tryin to catch a red light but ended up going from a like 10mph roll. now our cars are damn dear dead evenly matched, me driving betty and john in his 1st gen neon.(not sure of his mods) so any how up through first he jumped out slightly by about a 1/4 of his car and into second i held him there steadily, into third though my car likes to trip and fall on its face and he began to pull but just barely, by this time were doin about 70 and hes got me by the front half of his car and the road ahead was WIDE open so i decided im goin balls out, into fourth the hp difference between us was in my favor as i peaked out third gear and hit fourth i started gaining back the ground he so readily took and by the time we shut down at around 110 or so we were neck and neck.
the second run was almost identical as the first but from a 25 roll
3rd run: this time we had a chance to run from a stop, and this is where things get tricky, from a stop i have a slight advantage over him being rear wheel to his front wheel spinnyness so we line up and i rev up to about 3500 rpms, and he did the same and i honked down, 3-2-1 and i launch hard and jump out on him by a nose, and the fact that my car weighs almost 1000lbs more than him he stayed right next to me, up through fourth gear it was a neck and neck race and i shut down in the middle of fourth and rolled to a stop.
it was quite breath taking and he and i plan to run on a real track and see who comes out on top

the other race i felt worth posting was a three way between myself, dragneons younger brother in his rsx-s and a early nineties civic with a h22 swap.
now the outcome of this race was not what i had anticipated in the least bit.
the three of us line up and all rev up, and again i honk down,
3-2-1 and we're off like horses at the Kentucky freakin derby, the rsx launched WAY to high and spun hard off the line roasting all the way through first gear and the civic did the same and seeing as i have a bad clutch i slipped it slightly, peddled a little bit and jumped out ahead holding the civic at my passenger door. into second i was expecting the h22 to slingshot the civic past me like a rocket but apparently the car gods had other plans, and i held him at my door until 3rd gear and he started to gain back ground, and the rsx had finally caught traction in the middle of second and was catching up pretty quick. after the end of third gear at WOT the civic and i were neck and neck and the rsx was trailing us by a smigden of space. into fourth i pulled just slightly on the civic at shut down at the top of fourth with the rsx right on my tail and the civic right next to me. so all in all it was a hell of a ride.

so thats been my excitement for the past couple weeks, i just gotta know though, what kind of times does an H22 powered civic usually pull in the 1/4? because for some reason i was expecting alot more from it.
