A little change of pace for me.

Here is a little change of pace for me. This is my second Mecha model that I've done. I get tired of building cars all the time. Hope you guys don't mind something a bit different. I put up my first project before at this link in AF. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=63926&highlight=zaku

The EX-s Gundam isn't done yet, but I'm putting it up anyway. The Great Mazinger was a favorite Japanese cartoon of mine growing up so I had to make a model of it when I found it was so simple. It looks very toy-like IMO, but it was a joy to build. I'd like to see some others' non-auto subjects if you've got any going.

I can't keep up with all your projects Walter!:D

I had to rub my eyes when seeing that first pic. It looks like a cartoon image has been super imposed onto the pic. I mean that as a compliment BTW, it looks great! Did you do all that shading with airbrush?

The shading tells all the skill and effort you've put into it. Excellent job!

I've got a 1/48 F4D-1 skyray squirreled away in its box...what I wish is that somebody would make models for the old TV show Exosquad, or Transformers models. :D

Thanks for the compliments/comments guys. The shading was done both with an airbrush and brush. It took me two hours to shade this thing with a airbrush. Imagine how my hand felt after holding a pencil thin airbrush and depressing the trigger so many times. The shading was really washed out in the pictures due to my camera's flash, but it is actually much darker. The robot is supposed to red, white, and blue. Since I dirtied/ shaded it so much it now looks dingy gray and the red/blue looks kinda dusty. Well, I can't stand to shade for two hours so I'm gonna do my cars again. May be I'll get better daylight finished pictures soon.
I've got to finish this thing up for this evenings interview. I started this three days ago-talk about rush!

Hey wkma7six, i noticed in your other thread that you did the zaku for a customer. Do you do this for customers? if so for how much? Also what paints did you use, tamiya, Mr. Hobby?

Also is this the 1/100 master grade that just came out or the 1/144 hguc one?

Whoa! That's awesome! Nice to see diffrent things from you. I built a few SD Gundams way back, and the one with the feathers (forgot it's name) back when they were showing it on Cartoon Network, my brother bought them and wanted me to build them, then he broke a wing off....

Serge, the kit is from the High grade series. I really don't know anything about Gundams or mecha modeling. I just like to build them. I heard about the Master grade version, but that one doesn't have a booster pack. The paints that were used were from the Mr. hobby lacquers (Yellow, White, and Blue) . The other colors were Model master, Tamiya, and Gunze acrylics.

This one was for the same customer, but I may end up keeping this one as the hobby shop wants to see if the customer would like the Master grade (larger) version.

Thanks again for you're comments/ compliments.
