It may be not as good as 935k3's models, but it still is good

Well, Ales pretty much sums up what I would of said.

I think you're going real fine. Nice work in the interior.
How's going the body? Already primered and painted?

I think that looks as good as anything I could do. That kit doesn't give you allot to work with. I am still fooling around with my Xsara. I cut out the floor because of sink marks and poor molding on other parts. I got tires from Tamiya and added styrene in wheel openings to match the Tamiya tires. I made inner door panels and new side windows and opened all vents and grills. That kit takes allot of work, so much that I had to take a break from it.

From what I can see, I looks good to me! Keep us informed on how it is going!

first at all,
i want to thanks you all for your comments, that's pretty nice to see my work is appreciate.
Now i reply to some of you

ALES : i don't know why, but i always make spare wheel attach with success (check the one of my 206).

Gainsbourg : unfortunately, not a lot of progress on body, i must prime it again after a step in brake fluid.

935k3 : i use RACING43 tires to replace the heller ones. i didn't know that you were making one.

Now the last update is the dashboard added, pics can be view
here (http://fr.photos.yahoo.com/bc/sebastien_aucouturier/lst?.dir=/xsara+wrc+2001/14_11_2002)

what can i say, hum, is that the steering wheel was ripped from a calibra kit (someone know where i can find a small red "ELEKTOR" logo to put on ?) and it looks better than the crappy heller on.

The next update will be the seat added... see you soon

Looks good so far! I agree w/935k3 about many of the kit's issues, one reason I'm planning to "just" build a tuner out of mine rather than go for a replica.

Hi guys,

here are a new update... and the last time you will see webcam crappy pics from me..as i got a new toy..a digital camera..

So Here (http://fr.photos.yahoo.com/bc/sebastien_aucouturier/lst?.dir=/xsara+wrc+2001/12_04_02) you can see the last webcam pics....this is the result of scratchbuild process of the door panel and of the helmet support.

And now.... Better quality pics (even if i need to learn the camera more)Here (http://fr.photos.yahoo.com/bc/sebastien_aucouturier/lst?.dir=/xsara+wrc+2001/12_11_02) ... The rollcage is achieve, i have add a lot of tube to match the real xsara rollcage...and you can see where the helmet support take place.

Bye for now...xsara is waiting to progress..so i go...

Thanks for the update Seb, and congraulations on finally getting a digital camera :D

Looking good - have to go and get my Heller Xsara out and see exactly how much you've modified the rollcage :)

What type and size plastic rod did you use for the modifications?

Another question Seb.

How do the new door trims fit? Did you use the S27 templates?

Hi phil,

so do you check tour xsara rollcage ?
i can tell you that i have added 30 cm of 1/16'' Evergreen ROD (1.6 mm).
Normally, i do not use so this diameter tube...but the xsara rollcage made by heller is so thin...

For the new door trims, i use s27 template, but carefully cut it larger that it must be....and sand, adjust, sand, .... It is made with 3 0.5 mmm plactic sheet and looks very great.... on another post i will show you...but i must achieve them before.

By advance, i wish you a merry christmas, hope santa will not forget you, i go for one week of hollyday now far from computers and models.

Thanks for the update Seb,

The interior looks excellent from those postage stamp size shots! Obviously a lot of time and scratchbuilding work invested to get the basic Heller kit looking that good. So much cool stuff you've added, the brake lever, the fuel tank connections and the door trims look great.

Have you seen the latest World Rally Collection magazine/book? There is a top notch build up of an Xsara in there

How is the body shell coming along? Are you going to strip all the little chrome pieces Heller provide for the scripts and badges and replace them with PE or something?

Looks like it might be finished soon - I'm all tingly with excitement :flash:

Your namesakes first WRC ride too - nice!

Problem is I can only access the low res images  Any way of getting to the high res photos to have a really close gawk?
