Building a b-series engine from scrath will be a pain-in-the-ass, buy a revell integra and use that engine, or wait for the revell civics in january( I think)

Start from four evergreen plastic pipe or rod, and add strip of plastic sheets on both sides to make a block. Add ribs with a piece of plastic, and various rods. You might also have to carve into the block with a very small chisel.
Still, the quickest way is to start from Revell's B18.

For sake of a small model the only differnce in the engines is the intake manifold.

In real life the B18 is 10mm taller, and has a differnt intake and exhaust.
Otherwise the engines are visably very similar.

True, I would like to add to this, the b16 can easily be converted to a b18 by changing the rods, pistons, and crank, which are not visable, the head is different too but you cant tell the difference by looking at it from outside, and the revell itr with the type r engine also has a type r maniford, which cant be bolted directly to a civic's b16 but a company called skunk2 makes a manifold that bolts to the b16, that is very identicle to the type r one, as a matter of fact, it's the same mainifold exept the bolt pattern, so if have that revell itr engine in a civic, consider it modified! BUt if you want it to look real, paint the manifold flat alluminum because the manifold in the kit comes chrome.

I dont understand why revell keeps stalling on their civics. When i first saw em on the site, they said they would release WAYYYYY earlier then what it says now.

Because it's Revell. :)
Unlike Tamiya, who almost always ship a new item on the announced date, Revell rarely keep the said release schedule. That's the way they are. There was a company called Accurate Miniature, and they were even worth when it comes to time management. The company went out of business.

well done....u guys r good at engines
to be exact...the ITR B18C block is 8mm taller than a B16A
and yes the internals can be changed but alot more work like matching of the crankshaft and boring it to 84mm is to be done in a B16A. it is not as reliable as a B18C block as it isnt a reinforced one.:)

cheers to all enthusiasts
