Working on a 64 Buick Par Avenue and the drivers front door will not lock or unlock with the interior button. All other doors function correctly with the push of the lock/unlock buttons on either front door. I took the drivers door panel off and upon hitting the lock/unlock button, I can see the door lock actuator moving up and down, but the lock isn't being locked or unlocked. It looks as if the little white bar protruding from the actuator has come unconnected with the lock rod or something. The lock cylinder will lock the door easily with the key from the outside of the car, but it is a real struggle to unlock the door with the key. How do I fix these two problems, or should I let the "stealership" do it?
My climate control center will sometimes be working perfectly and all of the sudden the display will go dark, but the controls still operate correctly. The radio display goes dark at the same time as the climate control with exterior light on or off it will do the same thing. Today, after starting the car, the defrost vents started blowing automatically and the climate control was dark and I could not change any of the settings or even turn it off until I turned the car off.
Traction control light remains lit and I can't seem to turn the traction on /off with the switch on the dash.
Whats going on here? Are these problems related? :screwy: I will appreciate any advice you can provide regarding this.
Thanks in advance!

Your lock problem must be a disconnected lock rod as you had said. You may have to buy new retainers for the rod to snap to the actuator arm (retainers are sold at most auto parts stores) Try snapping the rod into the actuator again, and see if it stays. Doing this sounds easy but if the actuator is still bolted to the door, it will be a pain to work on unless you've got small hands!
