91 Park Avenue Trunk Pulldown

Hello All,
I've searched the archive and was not able to find anything that addressed my problem. I have a 91 park avenue and the motor went out on my trunk pulldown. I found a new one and put it in no problem.
When I plugged the wires in the motor drove the post to the up position so now it can latch but when I close the trunk the motor does not pull it closed. It just latches and stays sticking up a couple of inches.
Can anyone tell me how to get it to pull the trunk closed?
Thanks,
Glen

Spare yourself all the questions from passersby and disable this. Permanetly pull out the motor and screw a self tapper into the up post, when you find the sweet spot where it looks closed. (using the auger to manually roll it down) From what I"VE read its nothing but trouble in the long run.
To disable the "trunk open" light on dash snip the green wire.
Thats my 2 cents after messing around with mine for hours.
