Edsel project failed...

Well, i gave up on my Edsel lowrider. I can't fins a windshield for the car that wont look funny. I think i tried to advance too quickly, and it winded up being ruined. I think i may get a Monte Carlo lowrider, and make a replica of the black one that Denzel drove in Training Day. I just gotta find some pics. Gimme some feedback. Oh and my thumb is healing up just fine, and ill be back modelling in a few days, or as soon as i get my next project.

why dont you just chop the Edsels original glass or use clear styrene to make it your way

Just put it away for awhile, work on something else, and return to it later. Sometimes a builder needs to relax and think about a problem and over time a good solution may appear like magic. You made a wise decision to work on something simpler in the meantime-that's a good antidote to an involved project that can get out of hand easily-leaving one feeling frustrated at it's complexity and a lack of seeing anything finished for so long. Don't give up completely!

Do you have a decent hobby shop anywhere nearby? Sheet styrene is available by Plastruct and Evergreen, and most hobby shops carry it. You certainly don't need to order it from overseas! You can also use the clear plastic from some model boxes as raw material for clear styrene sheets. Hobby shops that carry stuff for railroads usually have scratchbuilding materials like sheet styrene.
