Those little rubber semi-circles that you flip inside out, set on the table, and wait for them to pop and fly way up in the air.

Lets talk about the mute buttons on C.D players, because they kinda defeat the purpose of having a C.D player....
On a T.V I can understand cause you can still see the pictures, but on a C.D player ?!?!?! :p

And then why not just pause it so you don't miss any of the song? If you're talking about car stereos, I think it's meant more for the radio than the CD, if your cell phone rings (which you shouldn't be on while driving anyways) you can just hit mute instead of powering off the stereo or losing your volume level...

good point.
My car stereo has a similar feature but luckily it can be set to either full mute or 1/2 mute, I have it set to 1/2 mute for when I actually get a phone call

so does the mazda
My Mazda has a Pioneer C.D Head Unit that was given to me. (the reason it was given to us is because it wouldn't eject the previous owners C.D, so he punched it, and recked the screen  )
who cares ??? It doesn't matter to me........I've got an AM/FM and a cassette and thats it
They should add a pause, FF and RW button to radios, for when the news comes on you can just fast forward through it, and when a song comes on that you like, you can listen to it over and over again ;) :p
no, it's good. CDs skip while rally racing.
They do
And for all you that have Cassette players and a C.D diskman, you can buy car kits for them....only they jump and it doesn't sound very good while you are crusing down the street with the music up full blast and the music stops, then starts again :bloated:

I have a badazz Pioneer CD headunit. Okay, so it's not totally badazz, but I do get to watch the race cars go around the track :D
And I usually hit pause instead of the Attenuator (1/2 volume) for when I get a call. I usually cruise around with my volume somewhere between 20 and 30, so 1/2 of either of those is still too loud. :o Not to mention I need quiet so I can steer with my knee while digging to get my cell phone out of its pocket on my purse.

I used to make a similar device out of paper clips. Only they were much less predictable, they could go off right away, with a delay, or not at all. Much more exciting, eh? :smoka:
One boring day, my pals and I set a bunch on the floor of the classroom, all set to go off when touched. Chain reactions are :coolguy:

I have a EDS-RON head unit in the car and the last one as well.
I always wondered what the hell they did until I went to Europe earlier this year.
Okay... Replicant driving along the AutoRoute from Versailles trying to get onto the A-whatever so he can get to Orleans by nightfall. He's got some music - playing a CD because he's getting a bit bored with all of the french music. The little Mercedes A170 turbo-diesel is being wrung by the neck as Rep tries to keep up with traffic @ 170kmh...
It's late in the afternoon and all of a sudden...
The music stops and this lady starts speaking in French...
Gave me a bit of a start and even more so when RATM kicks back in at about 105db.
I scratch my head and keep driving.
A bit further down the road, the music stops again and this French Guy interrupts which is bloody confusing as my conversational french is pretty useless...
When I stop in Orleans, I read the owner's manual. Evidently the head unit had been set to TA or Traffic Announcement and this was what was interrupting the CD...
