brake rebuild

Rebuilding rear brake calipers on '87 max. Having difficulty reassembling calipers, vis-a-vis depressing and holding spring and cover while installing snap ring. Have press, long-nose internal ring pliers, and plenty of skill at this sort of thing, but can't seem to beat this problem. Anyone with set-up, special tools, or technique suggestions, please help. Thanks.
