Well, I placed an order with them on July 7th for the Crank angle sensor to Cam angle sensor harness and I have yet to see it... I have emailed them about it and they won't seem to respond to my emails...
Has anybody else bought from them before or had a problem like this?
I'm not very happy with this type of customer service so far... :disappoin

I bought my harness adapter from them. Off hand I'm not entirely sure how long it took to get it though. I thought their payment through email thing was a little sketchy but I got the adapter and it worked perfectly.

Thats what I thought too... And considering the fact that they don't reply to any of my emails or send a receipt or anything made me worry even more about it...
I just want my freakin harness so I can finish my car... :frown:

I got my EvoIII16G and a 1G harness from them, they shipped it out real quick, but I ordered everything over the phone, and paid via debit card.

I sent them another email last night hoping they reply to this one... If they don't reply by tomorrow then I'm calling them up and I won't be a very happy customer...
They seriously need to get their asses going better on the website. I don't think they realize how much more business they would pick up from online orders all over the country if they had a better setup...

I just don't understand why people run businesses like this. I think it only happens when they realize that they are a monopoly... there arent too many DSM specific places that sell just DSM stuff, RRE is one of them. Makes people lazy after a while, I suppose.

I highly recomend people show a little respect to the RRE guys, they honestly deserve it. They are not up to speed on their site or their email accounts, but you have to remember that RRE is not an "internet shop." They started out as a REAL shop, and still are. All of the guys there are busy working on cars for customers. If you check out west coast forum sites like socal evo you'll see that they crank out an absolute ton of work. They are buried under thousands of emails at any given time, if I were them I wouldn't even try to dig out from under it.
All that being said, you HAVE to get them on the phone, even if you have to call a couple times. Also remmeber that they work weird hours, like 12pm to 7pm, which works out to 3-10 for us.
RRE is absolutely trustworthy, just difficult to get in contact with.

Oh, I didn't doubt that they were. Its just like you said, hard to get a hold of...
Which it looks like I will be calling them tomorrow to get that taken care of since they didn't respond to another email. Its just disappointing that such a well known company wouldn't up their internet support a bit more and try to expand since its such a successful business to be in. Ya kno?

A DSM specific business is not as profitable as people think. ;) DSMers are the cheapest pricks on the planet. Well maybe second to early model diesel truck owners. If those guys have to spend more than 10 bucks on a mod they do everything they can to barn yard engineer something...
At any rate, they could hire someone to respond to emails all day and another guy to keep the website updated and make it all fancy and shit, but it would cut into their profits or add to our costs. The RRE guys definitely aren't getting rich and retiring early.
There are some other shops that were born on the internet, and don't even have a real "shop." I expect companies like that to be much more internet savy, and they are. What pisses me off though is when these internet shops are incapable of doing any real work. And half the time they can't even drop ship parts properly. At least RRE is extremely good at what they do, and don't claim to be something they're not. :)
Maybe I'm just a RRE nutswinger. That's a rare occassion though, I really do hate pretty much every DSM vendor that ever went into business...

Sorry. Having piss pour customer service cannot be excused because they are a "real shop". If they aren't prepared to deal with the internet/customers there is an easy solution. Don't sell crap on the net.
People expect to be able to order parts from a site like that and get them in a timely manner. A crank sensor is not exaclty a custom built turbo and there should absolutely be no reason for it to take 1 month to ship one.
Being that I work in customer service, reading this really made me pissed off.

Something like a crank sensor or any other stock part should be bought from a dealer. There are enough of them that ship and offer DSM club discounts to make it a no brainer. Your order may just be a simple part, but it doesn't mean they don't have dozens of high dollar custom orders ahead of you in line.
Shops like RRE that offer parts that you just can not get anywhere else, you have to cut them some slack, know what you are getting yourself into, or just don't bother. It's like ordering a manifold from Shearer. You know that it's gonna take 6 months for him to make it and get it to you, but you also know that there is no other manifold on the market that will come even close to it's quality. If you order something simple like a sensor from him, he's gonna say "fuck, I don't have time for that shit, I've got 25 manifolds I need to get fabricated."
I'm not saying what they do is ok. I hate every DSM vendor on the planet because of poor customer service. But after 7 years of this BS I know what I'm getting myself into, and I order accordingly. Always get them on the phone, order as far in advance as possible, make them check to see if what you need is actually in stock, etc.
