Oil Indicator Light

Sometimes the oil indicator lights up (amber) when I start the engine and stays on for half a minute or so before it goes off. I have checked the oil level and it is fine. Anyone has any ideas why this could be happening?

What kind of car is this? I had an issue similar to that with my 325. It turned out to be a faulty oil indicator and had to be replaced by the dealer.

It is a 330Ci Coupe, 2002 model.
