96 Aurora Hard to start when hot

Hey Guys my 96 has 237k recently replaced the fuel pump and sending unit. Now the car starts fine when cold but on hot starts it turns and turns over like it wants to start then finally it catches. Getting white smoke that burns off and it runs great ( just don't turn it off). Lots of power gets up to 220k in a hurry no hesitation at all. Any help on how to approach this problem. New plugs and wires, fuel pump, no engine light on, just doesn't want to go on hot starts.

you have just described classic symptoms of Failing Fuel Pressure Regulator. The difficult Hot Start is the clue. Quick test is to pull off vaccuum hose at FRP and if there is fuel in the line it proves that the diaphram in the regulator is punctured.

i hadn't any gas in the vacuum line, when fpr were suspected, but new one sorted stuff right away, so this is kinda false diag.
also on old fpr membrane was intact, just seals given way..
so, just a tad of expirience here.
