Re-programming keyless entry remotes

I have a 1999 Alero that neither of the remotes work I have changed the batteries with no success I was told I may have to re-program the remotes.
How do I do this?

I am having the exact same problem with a 2001 Alero. I wonder where the receiver is located?

Checkout the link below. Go to Oldsmobile and then Alero. Try the procedure for the 2000 Alero if that doesn't work then it will be a trip to the GM dealer.
