Removing EGR from manifold

For a while, my EGR pipe was hanging with no support b/c me new phlenum had no spot for the EGR. Well after sitting for so long eventually the pipe snapped off and now I have exhaust flowing into my engine bay, and getting some things nasty. I cant seem to fit anything down to the exhaust manifold to remove the egr pipe from it. For anyone whos removed it, what the hell did you fit down there to remove the pipe from the manifold?
Also, If anyone has any pictures on how to wire a resistor in to get the EGR CEL light to disappear, id appreciate it.

hmm..so you need to block the egr off the exhaust manifold? well i removed my EGR, but i bought headers and only needed to block it off my intake manifold..idk..take off the rear exhaust manifold and weld something over the spot? thats a tight area to work with while on the car..

remove your intake plenum. then it will be easier to access the rest of the EGR connected to the exhaust manifold. get an EGR block off plate or get creative and make your own out of metal and a dremel.

ya but he doesnt need block off plates, his intake manifold doesnt have spots for the EGR..just needs to some how cover up the hole where the egr was on the exhaust manifold? i beleive thats what he is saying

i get what he's saying, but he'll need a kind of block off plate to cover the place on the exhaust manifold. but you can make your own block off plate instead of spending $25 and another $10 on shipping and waiting 3 days for it to arrive.

ya i agree..very easy to make if you have the ability to..i made mine, same difference..you barely see them anyways..

I dunno about the DOHCs but the SOHC egr pipe has like a nut on the end where it meets the exhaust manifold. When my pipe broke off I cut the pipe about 3 inches back from the nut and unscrewed it off. I then clamped the pipe shut and welded it and put the nut thing back on. You could also just try to find a cap type theng to screw on there, maybe something in the plumbing section of a hardware store.
