I'm pretty certain a bunch of the SERCA folks will be there and of course the 240SX folks, who are putting the event on.

DUDE! You should not be venting your bypass valve to the atmosphere. That will lead to a lean condition.

Chill george...i am actually a "Green" person meaning that i am not releasing anything to the atmosphere. the blitz BOV just happens to be pretty loud...which is very cool

Not that's not what he means by it. It would just be air anyway. No harm to the environment.

What George is talking about is venting METERED air into the atmostphere instead of back into the intake track. This keeps all the air in the system and won't cause a super rich condition in your engine after shifts because you dumped most of your air.

George can probably explain it better but us SR20 guys with the MAF need to recirculate our blow-off air. If we had a MAP then it would be no problem.

Sorry again so a BOV is a Blow-Off Valve and will vent to the atmostphere.

A BPV is a By-Pass Valve and will recirculate the air and keep it in the intake stream.

There may be just a miscommunication in terminology here.

Relax Luke.

Jason and I both asked you about this before and you didn't answer. In fact, I've asked you about a few things you haven't answered. To my knowledge I've not answered anything you've asked me.

Jason has my reason for asking exactly right. And Jason is right, I got it backwards. You'd go extra rich, not extra lean. Didn't have my head screwed down tight. Anyway, I was only thinking of you.

I made the assumption you were venting to atmosphere due to the noise. Most bypass valves (BOVs recirculated) are not very loud.

well got back from the meet....More people and cars than I expected...The parking lot was not big enough for all the cars....Lots of 300Zs and Sentras of course.. but also some old skool datsuns came out also...couple R32 and a R34, wish a R33 was there to complete it...anyways only couple p11s were there and some P10s...but no Luke...WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU LUKE??? I wanted to see your car...some other people were waiting for you also...

i totally thought the meeting as this weekend!....it's not until i checked today on se-r.net and found out that it was this past sat...doh!!!!
anyway, we should have a little all G20 meet again soon?
one question tony...how did your friend made the rev work on the afc?

regarding questions asked by jason and george. I am using a Blitz bov...meaning that it does not allow me to return released air back to the intake. I understand this does make the engine run lean for a split second...but i dont think it's a big deal, a lot of people make a big case out of it (if you visit the eclipse forum you'll know wht i am talking about).
btw jason...i dont know this for sure (need to find out) but isnt there a sensor near the firewall of our cars and isnt that the MAP sensor? i'll take a pic and show you...or you can tell me what kinda sensor this is.

Psst, Geo, it was put on by us, SOCal-SERCA *&* SoCal240SX.org :)

Oh and we raised ~$650 for the RED CROSS relief efforts which will be doubled by Nissan thru Mike Kojima's donation, not bad for a lil' ol' Q eh?

Actually, Jason is correct. It will cause a rich condition. I was wrong about being lean. I'm pretty sure there is a fitting available for the Blitz that allows recirculation. Then again, maybe I'm thinking GReddy.

As far as being a big deal..... from things I've read by friends who are one the DSM lists and forums, I think most of those guys are monkeys. Just my opinion though. :jump: There are certainly some fast DSMs out there, but a lot of people that are just hacks too.

Our cars do not have a MAP sensor. They have an MAF.

Sorry Carlos. Since I signed off the SoCal list I'm just not as in touch. I'd love to get back on it, but I have not time for it right now. I miss you guys though. Can I still be an honorary SoCal member though? :D

You guys ROCK! I've got to get the Texas group going again and find a strong RE like you. I'm just too busy with other things and have to get together with Rob and get national off the dime again. We're slacking. :(

Damn. Wish I could make it. I had so much fun last year. I really wish I could make it out with my car. I think Mike would get my car really ROCKIN!. :jump:

For the rest of you guys here, as I've said before, you really should go to these dyno days. I can pretty much guarantee you that they will find more hp for you on the dyno. Besides that you'll meet a great group of folks. They're really knowledgeable as well.

If you are in SoCal and you don't go to this, we need you to pee in a cup because you'd have to be on something to miss this. :D

You'll always be an honorary member man! I gave you an *official* banana! Remember? :)

Yes, I have to echo what you said about "getting Nat'l off the dime" again, and about the dyno, shoot I gained like 6 HP!!
