Replacing BAXA Tranny Difficult?

I am thinking of replacing my 2000 Honda Accord Transmission. I was wondering if its difficult. I talked to a tunner and he said just buy a rebuilt and bolt them in. Sounds simple... but has anyone done it?

I looked at the Chilton and it does look very straight forward... unplug this and that and then unbolt the whole assembly.

I'm not planing to change it anytime soon, just wainting for it to finally give out.

The tranny is jumpy and wouldn't catch the gear right away from a complete stop or going less than 1-2mph. It would give a big kick after the gear is engage. Sometimes it would make "earthquake sound" as if I was driving a manual car and shift to wrong gear.

Any oppinion?

Slippage and clutchpack shudder, sounds like it's time to six that unit, you're right.

R+R isn't too bad as long as you have something to lift it with...getting the CV shafts out will probably be the hardest part...and you can cheat and just pull the inner joints apart and pull them through the damper forks if they give you trouble.

Thanks Jeff, I totally forgot about the CV joint. I gotta double check the Chilton manual in CV section.

Right now if I am driving local, it's best for me to set at D3, less skippage for some reason. Hope I can find a rebuilt unit that is not too expensive.

Hell i guess for that matter you could just pull them outta the way and let them lay, if they don't interfere with anything..don't neccessarily have to fully remove them...
