91 Convert needs some help with tranny, electrical

Hi guys I'm pretty new here, just wondering if you could help me. I just purchased a 91 Baron Convert from a couple moving out of the country. Car is in great shape except for a few minor details:

1. The car runs like a dream. The only problem is when I come to a stop, I feel the transmission kick after about a second of being stopped. I have no idea what this could be.

2. The rear quarter windows did not work when I got it. I figured it might be the window switch, it was like that in my old Fifth Avenue when I got that. I replaced that, and the passenger rear works fine. I still can't get the drivers side to go down though. I don't hear a motor running or anything. Any suggestions?

3. Speaking of that damned driver rear quarter, it's got about a half inch gap between where the driver's side window and the weather strip on the quarter window are supposed to come together.

4. Finally, I have a problem with leakage. The driver's side has a slow leak from the weather stripping corner where the convertable top meets the windshield. When it rains, this causes a slow leak, right onto my leg. :banghead:

Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Matt

Got some info for yah buddy.. the window regulators duff.. they seize up usually cos the cables snapped and the motors stuck in the up position and dont get fixed ie; peeps leave em up cos its troublesome to take it out and replace.. and expensive :grinyes:

I posted this a while back for nuther guy.. hope it helps..

Ok.. here goes for rear window removal..

Its a PAI :grinyes:

1st you gotta undo the 4 bolts that hold the upper part of the back seat and the screws that hold in the side panels, and the rear seatbets.. should all come out as one piece.. :grinyes: Make sure you disconnect the speakers.. I did it ass about face and ended up with bits everywhere :banghead:

When everything is out.. there will be a tar like sound proofing type of stuff over the opening.. disconnect the motor connector from the sidewall it held in by a plastic push clip.. and separated the connector before trying to lift out the window.. you can see 3 bolts (10mm I think) 2 at the top one deep down. The window and its reg lift out.. its a tight fit near the motor end but it will go.. :grinyes: .

Take off the motor make sure to free it as it might be siezed from sittin doin nothing and test it on the bench.. ie run 12v thro it.. i did and just need to replace the cables and repair the framework as the regulators where seized..

good luck

Disconnect the torque convertor lock up wire and drive the car. If it goes away it was the lockup. If you leave it off you will loose about 1-2 mpg. If you can stand it leave it on.

mopar or no car

if you do find that its the torque converer lockup, and you want to not have it connected, than you can do what we do over at neons.org when we put a computer for a 5speed car in an automatic car(there are no performance computers for automatic neons): put a toggle switch to manualy controll the lockup, just leave it off in town, but when your on the highway you can turn it on and get back those much needed MPGs

The leak at the winshield can probable be fixed by ajusting the locking hooks that hold down the top.
