My syncros hate me.

I was headed to work yesterday and at the light before the freeway entrance an Infinity FX45 pulls up in the right lane. I knew he needed in my lane and was going to gun it. When the light turned I let her rip. However, when I tried to get into second it wouldn't go. It would just sit there and grind until the RPMs dropped enough.

So I made two mistakes. I didn't launch the car and I have crappy syncros. Needless to say I'm bummed that the Stealth has a death on it now. :shakehead

Ah dont say that! The syncro's don't hate you, they just hate themselves and want to end their life!

I'm just playing, that sucks to hear man.

There's a first time for everything...I drove one of those not long ago, and they're pretty quick for an suv.

Hahaha, good point. :grinno:

I don't feel too bad since the FX45 is pretty quick for an SUV. I just keep telling myself at least it wasn't something slow like an Explorer or something. It helps me sleep at night. :icon16:

You know what would help you to sleep easy? you ever sit in one of those FX45 fully loaded? they are comfortable as hell and you could fall right to sleep in them!

That sucks Polygon. Problems are like modifications on a 3/s, almost everyone has at least a few of them.

What options do you have as far as tranny rebuilds once the synchros totally crap out? Is there an aftermarket specialist or is Mitsu your only option?

BTW...My wife has an FX35 and driving that thing is nice but it bores me to tears.

mitsubishi doesnt do crap for these cars, they barely even know how to work on em anymore

kormex has the blocking rings he needs, the synchro itself is fine exept for the blocking rings

Ah Poly...you never have any luck with your vehicles.

But, you know what you can do. Try buying something that is reliable for once...

Says the guy with the never ending "problematic" Jetta.

To be perfectly honest, the DSM hasn't given me any problems at all. Motor wise, mines going strong, and I just hit the 90K mark two weeks ago.

At least i don't have to put an electric collar on mine to make sure the motor stays where it belongs.

The Dodge Stealth had a 4g63? I thought the TT version was a V6?

All 3000gt's and Stealths have V6's(3.0L) . It was just an option of SOHC, DOHC, or DOHC TT.
