Getting back into the modeling mood, I pulled out this model and decided to finish it. I painted the body a year ago and it has sat ever since. Well today I decided to try to finish it out. I painted the hood and front window trim black along with the tail end of the car and began the BMF on the side window trim. Not too much with this model, pretty much box stock. Enjoy the pics:

State side is that a 240 or 280 or what? I love those Nissans, always have. Great OOB build!

Actually they came as 240Z, 260Z and 280Z depending on year. I don't know what the actual cutoff years are for each, but it's pretty much in that order. That's how nissan did it here, they called it the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, then the next body style was 280ZX, followed by 300ZX, and currently 350Z, all in reference to the engine size.

Very cool retro subject. Marker lights look very realistic.

Small progress, got the mirrors and windshield wipers on, chrome bumpers are glued on now (but I got a little bit of glue on the rear quarter...can't really tell though):

Looking good so far, nice paint and some good bmf like on your other s30, i've got one of these kits myself and hasegawa did a pretty good job, I'm going to build mine with the flares, and put on a set of panasports(i know what I said in your other post...but panas look different from wats..lol) of course I do have a few sets of Advan a3a's...hmmm

keep up the good work

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I can see the difference with panasports and those would look awesome on an S30. Have you decided on a color for yours? I hope to get a couple more of these, specifically the Hasegawa version. It was really an enjoyable build compared to the Fujimi version. Everytime I try to remove the chassis from the body on the Fujimi version, I feel like I'm gonna snap the body because the mounting tabs are so deep into the nose!

not sure yet on the color for mine....its a far off build for me, I just know I want to also add some type of front spoiler similar to whats on these 2 cars....

Plus i'll have the flares, and the light covers so you could say both of these are the look i'm after..lol. I've got a spare custom bumper from a fujimi Silvia kit that looks kinda mean when placed on the body so that may get used. I will eventually pick up the Hasegawa ZG kit and build that as a sister to this one.

Good luck again with your build, and keep working with those cool jdm wheels(i've got a bit of a collection of them myself)

SWEET!! That's the way I'd like to build one too, same lip even! I'm still debating on using the headlight covers on this one. They were included with this kit but I think I might save them for another build. The maroon Z will have the headlight covers on by the end of the night.
