im changing my sprocket on my 04 750....but im not sure what is gonna be best....i hear -1 is maybe all people need....but i also hear alota people gettin -1 +2 but im not sure if thats too much.....im looking for a combination that will give me good torque on my low end but not take toooo much away from my top end....i wanna at least be about to go around 150 but also be able to do an easy wheelie.....will -1 +1 do this?.....someone suggested i just do like +4 in the rear.....whats a good midway range wheelies and some speed

I have no clear answer, but if you search online, there are a few ratio calculators that allow you to see what you'll end up with as far as rpm vs speed and such by inputting tire size, #teeth, etc...might help you figure out which way to go with it.

-1 on the front is roughly equivalent to +3 on the back depending on exact ratios.

i went -1 on my 954 and then went up two on the back later. for mine it just improved the midrange and low end in a subtle way. i had a fueling problem at 3k which was the perfect spot for corner speed in second gear. by changing the ratios it moved the flat spot enough to "improve" the fueling.

since the 954's were never going to top a gixer thou, R1 or ZX10, it's made mine more responsive to my riding style.

you'll also need a speedo healer if your speedo is gearbox driven (which i'm not 100% sure on). easy to install and setup.

my top speed was never reached with the stock setup. at a track day, i was in 5th on the straight trying to wind it out. got to about 230k's. with new setup reached 265 high 6th gear, so pretty much it given the weight and aerodynamics of of the fat bastard riding it.

ps don't forget this is an AUSTRALIAN BIKE. not a US bike. the ratios on a stock US Fireblade were better than an Aussie model. my rear was already down 2 teeth compared to the US version.
