Relace Motor Mounts?

Hi,
I recently took my '89 Accord into the shop to fix some torn CV boots/worn joints. This is the second time I've replaced the boot/joint in a year, and I asked the mechanic if there was a reason that it was tearing often. He later told me that it was because of a faulty/worn motor mount. So he also replaced that. Am I being taken advantage of, or can a worn motor mount really affect the CV boots?
Thanks!

The quality CV boot will last you for years. The cheap one will be destroyed rather quickly.
I see no connection here with the motor mount.
