95 Blazer no start

I'm trying to find out numbers of the connectors on my VCM. I have a problem with one of the connectors. Occasionally the Blazer won't start. If I remove and reseat the connector under the one marked Black it will start. The electrical diagrams I have found all refer to the connectors as C1, C2 etc. What color connector is C1 and C2 etc?

Last year the Blazer wouldn't start. I had it towed. It started right away for the mechanices at Firestone. This happend 3 times. The forth time it wouldn't start for them. They diagnosed it as the VCM. IT was replaced. The problem happend again several weeks later. This time it didn't start for them. They were starting to diagnose the problem by back probing a connector. It started after the moved the VCM. They said to take it to an electronics specialist the next time that happens.

It happend again a couple of days later. Thats when I reseated the connectors on the VCM. I removed and replaced them one at a time. Testing for a restart after each reseat. It restarted after I reseated the bottom connector on the engine side of the VMC. I got it started several more times using the same procedure. In the last 40K if have replaced the spider, distributor cap, rotor, coil, plugs, wires and ignition module.

Thanks in advence for any help.

We need engine code and if a VCM or VCM?
Is the computer inside cab or on right front fender?

Its a 4.3 W. The VCM is in the engine compartment on the passengers side fender well.

Just becasue your pulling out that connector doesn't mean its a connection problem. I'd have to look and see what the connection has to it, but you could be resetting something every time your unplugging it and thats the reason its starting up. Try wiggling it while someone is turning it over and see if it starts. This way your not unplugging it but just looking for the weak connection.

I do not have the color code to connector.
But usually the conectors are stamped in real small leters.
If you have the wiring diagram C-1 and C-2 and C-3 and C-5 can be determined by the wire colors going into them.

As said it may be a bad connector.
Wiggle them wires. Like a Ford wiggle test.:grinyes:
Do a pin size pin check on it to.
Good Luck
