93 Astro Dead - ECM-I Blows fuses

While passing a truck on the highway, the engine died. It turns over strong but won't start. I can't hear the fuel pump but all the other electrical is fine. The 10 amp fuse to the ECM-I was blown. Being on the side of the road, all I had was a 20 amp fuse. I tried it again without success and the new fuse was blown. I used a pair of needle-nose pliers with insulated handles to bridge the circuit. No start and the plier tips got hot. I'm sure the ECM-I has a dead short. Would this only be the module or could something else cause the problem? Also, where is this module and what does it look like?
Thanks,

I found the module, disconnected it and the short was in the wiring to it. Several hours later and after a lot of disassemby, the short was found in the wiring harness going into the engine area. It runs great now.
