Quad Motor Swap Question

Hi, I'm new here and I have a big problem. And I also have a question about a motor swap. I have a 92 Grand Am with the 2.3 DOHC that's a paperweight right now. I am planning to replace the motor and was wondering if the 2.4 Twincam will fit where the 2.3 was. Thank you in advance.

It will fit, but you will need the engine harness, ecm, transmission, clutch (if manual), cv shafts, hubs, and probably a bunch of stuff I am forgetting. Plus, these motors come out of the bottom of the car, so you need a method for lifting the car up over the motor if you don't have lift access.

Thanks for the info skibum1111. I'm a backyard garage kind of guy and although I've pulled the heads from a few engines already this'll be my first total swap, though I'm up for the job. One further question though, when you say the engine has to come out from the bottom, are you referring to the Twin Cam, the Quad Four or both? I already have the head off the Quad Four but I think the problem is a wrist pin or connecting rod. As I'm in my final semester of college and have my internship going on swapping engines is my quickest option (I'm looking for a donor car right now) and I greatly appreciate any information to aid me in this endeavor. The entire thing comes out the bottom. Motor, transmission, struts, brakes, pretty much the whole assembly can be taken out this way. The last one I did, we removed the cv shafts, hung the calipers off the struts to make more room, unbolt the ac compressor and swing that to the side, unplug everything, drop the exhaust, disconnect the hoses, unbolt the bottom first, make sure you use a suitable support for the top of the motor, lower the car down, unbolt the top and side motor mounts and transmission mount, support the motor and transmission with a jack or a cradle from underneath, remove the support holding the motor in and lift the car up. If everything wasn't so heavy it would be a simple job to do. I've heard of people taking the quad motors out of the top, but there isn't much room to manuver things. Oh yeah, before I forget, the twin cam and the quad motors are the same. When you search for a donor car, make sure you get the same year, the blocks and heads changed from year to year.
