05 mustang - dead battery

battery has gone dead 5 times in two years. new battery installed after one year by dealer. back doing it again. car is not driven daily but is driven weekly. Drive it one day, the next day battery completely dead, not even an interior light.

Sounds like warranty work to me. Take it back to the dealer. You have an issues with the electrics, of course. They have the tools to find it.

As SkylineUSA said, if it's under warranty and if it isn't any great distance to your dealer, then let them deal with it. If you're having to work on it yourself for any reason, then let me know and I'll explain how to make some basic electrical tests to verify normal operation of the charging circuit. If that appears to be in order then you may have an excessive current drain when the ignition switch is in the Off position, so I can explain how to test for that too. You would need a multimeter for both sets of tests.

sadly this is a known issues wih s197's. search MustangModders.com. a lot of guys have the same issue.. apparantly Ford knows that theree is a computer that dosent always turn off and will drain the battery if left unattended for a few days randomly. But they wont fix it.
