hard on gas

would someone know what why my truck is getting really hard on gas it always got 18 to 20 now i think i am down around 10, i was told the oxygen sensor will do this but there is no check engine light on.
anybnody have any suggestions? please
it is a 5.4 litre and is a 2000 yr.
