putty ?

hey i was wondering which putty would be used for this....

think he used like some green putty then something more beige as a top coat.

i usually use squadraun grey to cover little holes, but noticed when spanning more than 1/16" deep it started to crack.

i know some people say to build up the frame work with styrene then use putty, but then styrene gets u so far.

so... what are other types of putties to use for large work like this celica?

I use BONDO glazing and spot putty, it's really good, why what kind of body kit were you planning to make, maybe we can make some recomendations!

Buy both epoxy putty and polyester putty and play with them to know their characteristics. Both can be used to build a thick volume, but with epoxy, you can use your fingers to form the desired shape easily. Drawback is that it takes several hours to cure. Polyester putty is paste-like, so you can't use your fingers, and more adding, carving and sanding is required, but it cures in 10 min or so, and you can proceed for those multiple steps quickly.

well the body kit would be for that celcia.. the wideing of its body and its front bumper..

Go to an automtive paint supply store and get DYNATRON PuttyCote it is a two part mix putty that will not shrink,featheredgess beautifully and drys in 15 min. Ialso found out you can actuallly glue sheet plastic over it. It can be polished to a very glass smoth surface. BONDO owns DYNATRON and some stores are selling BONDO Ultimate which I think might be the same stuff because they both use a blue hardener and the description sounds the same. Bondo spot and galze putty is good for filling smaller things like scratches but a 2- two part putty like DYNATRON is necessary for bigger sink marks and sculpting and forming.
