up & down idle problem...

ok i have a 97 gtp, i have replaced plug wires, plugs and the car runs fine. then some days i will start it up and it will idle rough up and down and sometimes it will trigger the engine light and the code is high idle. Does anyone know what can be the cause??? I will be at a street light and the car will jerk while in gear because of this idle issue....HELP...:banghead:

Sounds like a dirty throttle body and IAC valve. Try cleaning them out with carb cleaner and see if it straightens out.

THE ONLY BRAND I AM ABLE TO RECALL AT THE MOMENT IS CRC. I AM QUITE SURE THERE ARE OTHER MANUFACTURES OF SIMILAR PRODUCTS.

I face the same problems with my 00' GP SE. The car engine rpm gauge would idle up and down for some odd reason. So are you saying what causing it is the throttle Position need cleaning? And that I should use Air intake cleaner and spray Throttle Body, Gunk brand for MAF sensor. If so, please reply, I can use the extra help...
