1997 GMC Jimmy

HELP

I had the water pump replaced on a 1997 GMC Jimmy. The car start running hot. Now it will not start. It makes a LOUD grinding noise when you try to start it.

Please clarify...did you R&R the water pump because it was running hot and now it won't start OR you replaced the water pump then it ran hot and now it will not start?? What area does the "grinding" sound come from, front, bottome, rear of the engine?
