2005 Lancer ES

I'm currently looking at used cars. I'm considering a 2005 Lancer ES with 30k miles on it. I'm not a street racer or a car tuner. I'm simply looking for a car to get me around.

Is the Lancer a pain in the ass to maintain or is it a reliable vehicle? Does the 2005 ES model have a history of problems?

I'm also looking at a 2006 ES from the same dealer. Price difference is $1k. Is the 2006 worth the extra cash?
