Hey everyone,here's the situation.
I have a 1998 chev silverado, and the thing wont start.every time I boost it it will run for about a minute then shuts down. It does this when sitting and idling or driving.Please help!!:banghead:

Here`s the situation...... lol . you should post engine size ,mileage .last time it had a tune-up .is the Ses light on ,any fault codes etc and have you done any mods to your unit . Lots of help here ,but sometimes we need help also............lol . just pullin your chain buddy but please post that info, and welcome aboard .
how`s the battery ,new, old ? get that checked out to see what reading is .

first thing I'd check is the battery too. Take it down to auto zone or somewhere similar and have a diagnostic ran on it to see if it holds charge.

Next would be the Starter after the Battery is checked.

just a sugestion if you use jumpers to get it started, and it starts runs a few seconds then shuts down. to me that sounds more like the alternator not working. To me it sounds like during the jump the battery gets a slight charge and jumps it, runs it for a few minutes then runs out of juice. once the truck is started it should not run on the battery just recharge it.just my thought.
