2000 Sle Ecm/pcm

I was wondering how common it would be for the ecm/pcm to fail on a 2000 sle? My jimmy has a lot of random problems that could be attributed to the pcm, but I've never heard of this being an actual problem. I was in a car accident on the same side as where the pcm is mounted.

What engine?
What kind of problems are you having?
Is any codes setting?

It's the Vortec 4.3l, it never throws codes, but occasionally I'll hit the gas and the car will have absolutely no power, the rpms go up but no matter how hard I hit the gas the car has no rate of acceleration. the car never gradually increases speed, it just jerks and then accelerates at high rpms, my keyless entry only works within 3 feet of the vehicle, there's more that i'm not thinking of right now. Like I said everything is only occasional, I've had everything looked at multiple times and all maintainence is done on time or early. Nobody seems to know whats wrong so I thought that the pcm could be bad as a last resort.

Was any wiring/wiring harness damaged? Was the PCM distorted in any way, the casing cracked etc, etc? In the accident, did the PCm get hit, or the metal on which it sits bent? It could easily be a PCM problem, or even related wiring too.

I don't think the pcm itself is damaged, it was just the side it was on. it managed to break a fitting in my evaporator on the a/c though so I figured it was a possibility. It seems to do it when my car is accelerating from a downhill position if that makes any difference.
