1993 Door Handle Removal

So how do I get the passenger door handle off my '93 pick-up? There's some rust underneath it that I wanna' clean up. Does the interior door panel all have to come off?

Although the Haynes Manual indates there is a screw to remove... it is covering many years, and so, as you have noticed, there is no screw...
The plastic square frame "AROUND" the handle pocket itself, is a separate piece... and it simply "snaps" on. It does not "simply" snap off... carefully use a a small flat-head screwdriver... test different (barely discernable) lines, which are in fact where the square frame, and the handle pocket meet. (It looks like one piece.. but, it is two.)
The portion which goes acroos the top on the handle has one large tab with notch to secure it. Across the bottom of it are two smaller notched tabs.
Just gently knuddle it, it may more easily slide out to one side... "gentle" is the key word, it is plastic, and though a quality plastic, still will break if not done carefully.
Mine is a '93 also. I discovered how to remove this when I installed new speakers in the door.
