Oh, it will be a long time before it is all put together. :D

I still need to get this block hot tanked, and checked out. New piston rings, polish the crank. New flywheel, clutch, etc.

Dumb question: What is hot-tanking? I've heard the term before, but not sure what it means... My guess is that it's cleaning the block in some sort of acid bath or something?

Also, what on earth do you do for a living Kris? You're dumping MAD amounts of $$$ into your civic lately, just curious. :D

correct the block has to be cleaned before any machining can take place right. There are a few ways to clean the block. One is hot tanking, where the block is dipped in a chemical solution that brings the block to bare metal. The Chemicals are heated, which is where it got the name hot tank. A jet cleaning tank uses the same type of chemical solution, but the block is rotated in tank and spray nozzles pressure wash it (kind of like a big dishwasher). The jet spray tank is a little better at breaking up heavy deposits, but as long as the chemicals are fresh, the hot tank does a decent job. I have no Idea were kris works though........:D

I work two full time tech support jobs. But the real income is from my wife. :bloated: She makes more than me at both jobs combined.

ok so i didnt want to read the whole thread but if you have a 90 LS motor then use a 90-91 CRX HF or SI harness because everything will just plug right in....if you are running a 92 ECU....sell it and buy a 90 ECU because the 92 ECU is obd 1 and your motor is OBD 0 and if you ran the obd 1 ecu you would most likely get some CEL's.......i have a 91 B18a swap in my rex so if you have any questions feel free to ask me.......:bandit:

no no no....dont get me wrong you do see gains but i have seen gude head packages that have wierd power curves as in up to a certain point you will see a gain then it will just drop off, and no not just a fuel cut........

CRXtc
11-14-2002, 06:00 PM
or things like extreme losses down low and gains up high....etc.....

Well, I am sure there will be a tiny little gain, over stock. Especially with the other goodies I plan on putting in there.

why would there be any loss in power at all, maybe it doesn't increase the low end power, but i wouldn't think there would be a loss in power
