Air Conditioner Problem - 2000 Cadillac Deville

I have a 2000 Cadillac Deville. Recently it started making a clicking or grinding noise when I turn the AC on. It was putting out cold air at first but the noise became louder and then only hot air would come out. I had it recharged and it is putting out cold air but the grinding noise is still there and getting louder. Is this a condenser problem?

A set of service gauges and some pressure readings might help. From my experience, it sounds like the compressor went south.
