Mandrel vs. Crimp piping

I was talking to the one mechanic I trust the other week, and I asked him how much he would charge to finish off my exhaust with the 2 1/4 inch pipes. He had a high flow cat there he would sell me and I have to get the 18 inch resonator. So on to the question, I asked him if he did madrel bending and he said that the mandrel didnt really have that much more of an effect as the crimp bending, unless I was running a higher amount of horsepower. So, would the crimp be fine if I got it 2 1/4 inch all the way through, with the high flow cat and resonator? Thanks.

On a 2.2 it definitely won't matter either way. Probly won't even matter on any cav. Mandrel is just better for flow.

Alrighty then, I guess I will just save some cash and get the 2 1/4 through with the crimp bends on it. Also, are Vibrant resonators any good or should I go for Magnaflow or Flowmaster? Thanks.

I am supposed to be looking at the red glasspack mufflers right? The shortest I found of those was 20" case and 25" overall length, in the 2 1/4" size.

Hmm that's weird. Cody would know if the 25" one would fit.

Alright. I guess I will wait for him to get online and reply and post a bunch of pictures of his car on here. If I can find a tape measure I could see if there is 25 inches of space under there.
