first time changing alternator

hey guys,i gotta change my alternator for the first time on my 93 eclipse gs. i was wondering if there's some basic bolts i can remove and such. so i dont have to waste my time taking a bunch of stuff out and finding out i didnt need to. where is the tensioner. also, would it be easier to work on from the top, bottom, or side?
