Hi, I'm new here....
I tried replacing my drivers side front window regulator (4 door) 97 Grand Am. I am having trouble installing the new one. I'm not sure which way the thing goes and which parts to bolt in first. I know that the straight metal piece with the track goes on the window and tightened to the base of the window, and the lower "arm" straight metal piece is tightened to the door frame via 2 bolts.... however, when these two pieces are in place, the motor end does not point in what I think is the right direction, it should be towards the upper right at an angle??? right??? it will not go into this position after the other two pieces are in place.... ugh......this is so difficult.:banghead::banghead:.... anyone have any clues???
also, does anyone have a clue if I could use bolts, instead of rivets to fasten the regulator back to the frame, the replacement part i have will allow bolts and nuts to be fastened to the door frame.?

Welcome to AF llk517.
Yes you can use short bolts insted of rivits, but you should use nuts with the nylon lock so they dont loosen up over time and cause issues.
