fantastic prep work! Unfortunately this thread is revealing all the things I missed in my build..oh well perhaps I'll build another one some day and use this build diary as a reference?
I'm looking forward to seeing some paint on the body!

Now you are testing our limits, or yours? So where is the limit? Real thing?

Darn this is good!

Great job on rear diffusers, really well done. And at least the idea of to use Tamy's sideskirt seems to be the best option, I'm still having lot of problems with those.

Thanks for all of the positive comments!!! I really am enjoying this build.

Gio, the main reason I kept the Tamiya sides (other than the shrinking crap resin of MSM) is because of the rear wheel wells. The MSM ones are obviously not attached and I saw that as no fun. The Tamiya ones fit well because the model is built well. So modding them was the best option.

The rear diffusers were a bit of a mystery as the only pics I could find were only back shots. I found an after market company that sold them separately for the real 360 and that was about it. Mostly I used my brain and thought about how it should work. Hopefully I got it right? If not, well hell, looks good to me!

Ok, there has been slow progress on this one. I have lost the steam for it as it never goes any further. But then again, I have not been devoting too much time to it.

Here is the center console getting re-worked. Like everything mentioned before, the MSM kit is very poorly executed. So I had to cut it apart and widen everything.

Here is a very bad picture, sorry. But, you can see where I used pin heads of different sizes to get the console buttons accurately depicted.

Along with the console I added the magazine net in the back.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Build6012.jpg
I later thinned it down to make it smaller.

Like it is intended to do, the primer exposed a ton of issues. So I marked them and fixed them. Next will be another primer coat.

Now for a personal problem. I spent so many hours on the seats that I was content. It was mentioned to me that I needed to make them more accurate. The real seats have a lip to them and not a round contour on the sides. So, I decided to strip them bare and start over.

This is where they are today. I am glad I decided to do this. In all, I have spent about 50 plus hours on the seats!!!

Here are the wheels. I was so happy with them then I noticed that one of them got a bit of crazing and bubbling from the weather at the time. So I will strip these and start over. At least you all can see what they will look like. I also added valve stems as well.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Build6001.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Build6003-1.jpg
I also completed the diffuser after I made it realistic. After paint I noticed there was not a nice transition, so I stripped them and fixed them, again.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Build6004.jpg
I also finished the rear hatch cover. This one took a long time and once again, primer showed what was wrong. It is almost ready for another coat and paint.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Build6005.jpg
And here is the console after all of that work and paint. I am happy with it so now comes the CF. I will re-add the pin heads and paint them as well.

So, not a lot of progress, but a heck of a lot of time to get to this point. Hope you all like it.

Nice. I don't think there is a transition on the rear diffuser though, I think the plates are separate pieces, and bolted or riveted to the chassis plate. I'll try to find the pictures.

Egad!!!! DAMN DAMN DAMN :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I found some pics of after market diffusers and they were bolt on. I knew I should have followed my instinct. Well, another part I have to redo. :runaround:

Just cover it with C/F and it should be fine.

Hi, very nice build.
But what did you do to the rear window? Did you sand it? How did you manage not to scratch it? Can you tell me a little more about that?
And a tip what parts I have to buy to make an 360CS would be nice, as you said, the MSM kit looks really bad.

Well, I learned that sanding the rear window can be tricky. I basically laid it as flat and as accommodating as I could in my hand and sanded the defroster lines away with 400 grit. Then I used 600/1000, and then wet sanded with MicroMesh 2000/4000/8000/12000. I still need to polish it to a final shine. That is all it really takes. But, I have broken 3 windows from being too confident. So take it really easy.
