87 4runner efi problem

My 87 with a 22re and automatic trans will start when cold but when left running the fuel pump relay gets very hot and the truck dies. any ideas??:banghead:

Try checking your fuses and wiring to your fuel pump, it could have a small short, a cracked insulation on the wire, that is just not grounding out yet and blowing the fuse.
There are Service Manuals at the Top of every 4Runner page, it's the fourth thread or Post down called Toyota Service Manuals. Check them out there excellent in problem solving. Just wish they could solve my 4Runner problem.
